Return Journey

After Sindudurg Fort, our return jouney started.

We taken different route while comming back. We Reached to Kankawli from Malwan and joined Mumbai Goa Highway. On this highway before Ratnagiri and after Rajapur (Yes, Famous for Mangos) we taken right turn to go to Karad via Amba Ghat and Malkapur.

Amba Ghat is one of the scenic place to see but as it was dark night nothing was visible except the road. Hence we recommend to visit Amba Ghat during day time as it can show u some breathtaking views. After crossing Amba Ghat we were again on Deccan Platue. Malakapur is 60 KMs away from Amba Village. Average Temp. of Amba is much lesser than Pune. (12 Vs. 20). From Malkapur we taken left before entering in to city for Karad. From Karad we again joined the Pune Banglore highway to reach Pune.

Sindudurg Fort

Sindudurg Fort is 1 nautical mile away from Malwan. It takes 15 mins to reach from Malwan port to Sindudurg Fort. We need to travel in small boats of fishermen (That too without life Jackets). The sea is 60 Ft. deep in middle of this way. On Sindudurg Fort there so many things to see, one of the Historically important place is Temple of Great Maratha Warrior Shivaji. People of Malwan assume Shivaji as "Avtar" of Lord Shiva Hence the temple was built by King of Kolhapur Shahu Maharaj in 1933 at a approx cost of 4000 INR in the fort itself.

Tsunami Warning System in Arabian Sea (told by Fishermen)

Way to Sindudurg Fort without life Jackets with local fishermen that too on zero cost, they havn't taken a single rupee from us.

Do u remember this spot? Recollect "Ram Balram" Movie of Amitabh, In many bollywood movies this spot is used as Smugglers "AddA"

Can you Spot me in above snap? Yes, I am there, again on the riskiest place.

Sindudurg Fort Inside.

Sindudurg Fort (from Malwan)

I have frequently travelled to Malwan, I have experienced deadly Sea. Here are the two snap of the Sindudurg Fort taken from the same spot. Just compare the water levels of sea in both photographs. The spot from where we have taken these snaps is one of our favourite place to Hang Out in Malwan.

Above Photograph is taken in June 2007, during Mansoon and High tide. Below one is taken recently "The same fort the same point from which above snap is taken" Just compare the water level

After having our light (?) breakfast, we decided to go to the above fort.

In Malwan : Famous Tarkarli Beach

In Morning 6.30 we wake up with huge sleep in our eyes but Tarkarli Beach was calling us. Tarkarli Beach is one of the cleanest beach in Asia.

"I can drive any where in this Universe, if given chance I will not left Mars too"

We are Sorry but Other Photographs on Beach are Sensorred by ourselves.

Kunkeshwar to Malwan 49 Kms, Costal Journey

From Kunkeshwar, Malwan is 49 KMs, in whole of this journey we travel on the coast of Arabian Sea. From last 120 Kms we havn't seen a single fuel station and we needed it very desparately. We found one on this route. The employee on this stationed asked us a funny question "What is Credit Card?" when we asked him do u accept Credit Cards? We saw one of fabulous Sun Set at one point, it was so facinating that we even forget to take snaps. We were near to our final destination "Malwan"

Guess What it is? These are small boats anchored in Arabian Sea, Which takes us to Sindudurg fort from Malwan.

After this journey we decided to stay at a Motel near Sea, we got one.

Nipane Water Fall to Kunkeshwar Temple

So Far we have travelled 349 KMs. Pune to Kolhapur 240 Kolhapur to Gaganbawda 50 Gaganbawda to Nipane Water Fall 59 KMs.

After Nipane Water Fall, our next destination was Kunkeshwar. In Kunkeshwar we can see the temple of Lord Shiva, situated near to Arabian Sea. The route we taken was one of the deserted route, No social life, Not even a Hotel to have tea. The distance between Nipane Water Fall to Kunkeshwar is 110 KMs (Route : Nandgaon - Padel - Kunkeshwar). The best thing in Kunkeshwar is that we cannot even guess till the time we enter in to Temple, that there is Arabian sea behind the Temple. We cannot see the Sea thru out our journey to Kunkeshwar, its really pleasant surprise.

In a Sea near kunkeshware we found something special, The rocks in sea were having "ShivLing" on it. "Kunkeshwar" the place where Spiritual powers meets beauty of nature.

"ShivLing" On the Sea Rock, Is it our Faith or its Real? Lord Shiva Knows.

Deserted route to Kunkeshwar from Nipane Water Fall

"Very Close Shave"
I am Standing on one of the Engineering Marval "Konkan Railway".
The train behind me is travelling to Mumbai at a speed of approx 90 kmph.
The distance between me and the train was approx 100 mtrs.
Time to jump from tracks Only 4 Seconds.
This real life stunt may have caused me my life. But my motto is "Be Bold Take Risk"

Gaganbawda to Nipane Water Fall ( Live Screensaver)

We left Gaganbawda to reach next destination Nipane Water Fall, for this we required to cross "Ghat" (Marathi word for roads in mountains) i.e. we were climbing down the Deccan Platue.
After travelling 28 KMs, we took right turn, the MileStone was showing Nipane as 6 KMs but from the main road it was 12 KMs one way. Nipane Water Fall is 24x7x365 Water Fall. Again one of the naturally beautiful spot.
Just have a Look

Isn't It Live Screen Saver?

GAGANBAWDA

From Kolhapur, in our journey to Malwan, our next destination was Gaganbawda ( Gagangarh). This place has got crutial place in Geography and Spirutal History.
Geographically, This place is starting point of Deccan Platue, India.
Spirutally, This place is worship place and "Samadhi" of Famous Jagatguru Gagan Giri Maharaj therefore the name given as Gaganbawda ( "Bawda" in Marathi means small human settlement)

Behind Me the Gagan Giri Temple

We started from Kolhapur at 4.30 a.m. as we decided to catch the Dense FOG on KOLHAPUR to GAGANBAWDA route. See the snap above, we catched the Fog and Clouds. My mother told me HEAVAN is somewhere in the clouds, We are now in the clouds, I think I am in Heavan.

Its Me, The only trouble in todays life is technology, Mobile Phone disturbing a lot.

Way to Malwan Starts from Kolhapur, There are several ways to go to Malwan but we chose to go with Following route Pune - Satara - Kolhapur - Gaganbawda - Kunkeshwar - Malwan.
We deliberately choose this route because the Nature, Scenic spots and beauty of nature can be more closely seen from this route only.
From Pune, Satara is 110 KMs. on Banglore Highway. We Started in Afternoon 2.30 from Pune. We reached Satara at 4 p.m. and after that real struggle started. The first problem we faced was loss of key of our vehicles. Infact it was not loss but it was misplaced.
We reached Kolhapur at 9 o'clock, Pune to Kolhapur Distance is 240 KMs on the same Bangalore Highway. We decided to take hault at Kolhapur and decided to start in early morning.
